I would never call myself a writer. What brought me here is a love of home decor that has been slowly developed and fostered as I take on the world day by day. I would say that my first decorating decision was at the tender age of ten. I was allowed to chose any color and decorating scheme my little heart desired. I chose a shade of purple that Barney would covet with the shams and duvet cover to match. This was my first taste at the joy you could feel at working with a space until it was just right. Until that space defined you down to the very last detail.
Due to my childhood being one where a move and sequential new home was in store every few years, decorating became a well practiced hobby. My mother allowed me the freedom to express myself without limitations. One room became a multicolor and neon preteen dream. Teen 'maturity' and a love for John Hughes produced a pink and cream Parisian look for another. College roommates dealt with returning from class to new furniture layouts weekly.
So much has happened to me in the last year. I graduated college a full year ago and entered that next chapter of my life. I have an amazing job at an online home decor store where I have worked as both a buyer and a part of category management. It still amazes me to think that at 23 I manage half of the lighting category. Due to being constantly surrounded by people with wonderful style and design has helped me develop my own sense of style. I not only hope to use this space as an outlet to share all the wonderful product and interior design in the world, but also hopefully to inspire others.
